  1. CALL TO ORDER

  2. ROLL CALL
  3. This Committee was appointed by the NoRTEC PIC and Governing Board at their regularly scheduled January 28, 1999, meeting. The official members are the NoRTEC Executive Committee members and the NoRTEC Governing Board members, although all PIC members are invited to participate in the discussions. This Committee is empowered to act on behalf of the full NoRTEC PIC and Governing Board for Workforce Investment Act implementation items needing resolution in the interim between regularly scheduled meetings.

  4. PUBLIC COMMENT (INFORMATION)
  5. A limited amount of time will be set aside at the beginning of the meeting for public comment about any aspect of NoRTEC business.

  6. BOARD OF SUPERVISOR RESOLUTION (ACTION)
  7. Each of the NoRTEC consortium member counties will be asked to pass a Board of Supervisor resolution confirming their intent to apply for workforce area designation through the NoRTEC Consortium, and to expand the consortium membership to include Butte County.

    An example Resolution is attached: Example Resolution

    The attached resolution does includes a reference to Butte County. The exact wording may need to be changed. This committee will decide on the wording for a resolution to submit to each of the consortium member Boards of Supervisors for their approval.

  8. PRESENTATION STRATEGY (ACTION)
  9. The members will determine a strategy for presenting the Workforce Investment Act information, and obtaining the necessary Resolutions, from the consortium member Boards of Supervisors. Staff will report on efforts by the NoRTEC subcontractors to keep the local Boards of Supervisors informed.

    2. The next meeting is scheduled for March 17, 1999, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, in Redding. The Hilltop Inn will be closed for construction, so an alternative site will be secured.
